H.H SHRIMATH UPENDRA (II) THIRTHA SWAMIJI
 
H.H Sri Madhavendra Thirtha Swamiji had to take
 
another Shishya as the previous two Shishya’s he
 
had initiated into sanyas had been liberated while
 
He was still Alive(outside Samadhi) He then
 
initiated another vatu and named him Shrimath
 
Upendra (II) Thirtha, who became the tenth Head
 
of Shree Kashi Math Samsthan. SRI UPENDRA
 
(II) THIRTHA was a great expert in taking care of
 
Shree Kashi Math Samsthan.
 
This Swamiji also had to initiate litigation. In
 
order to recover some of the Math property,
 
which was in the possession of a wicked Jog Puri
 
Sanyasi for a long time, the Swamiji had filed a
 
suit in Adalat Diwani in 1782 and seven years
 
later, the date of judgement being 11June 1789,
 
Shrimath Upendra (II) Thirtha Swamiji won the
 
case and accordingly took possession of the lost
 
property.
 
The Swamiji had initiated a vatu into Sanyas and
 
called him Shrimath Rajendra Thirtha.
 
Later he attained Maha Samadhi on Margha
 
Shuddha Saptami of Virodhikritu Samvatsara, Sh.
 
Sh. 1713 corresponding to Friday, 2nd December
 
1791 in Kashi (Vanarasi) and as per the Math
 
Tradition, His mortal remains were offered to the
 
sacred river Ganga.
